The OBS trap catches people constantly: a 1988-1998 2WD C1500 is a 5-lug truck (5x127) while the 4WD K1500 parked next to it is 6-lug. Wheels do not swap between them, and plenty of "OBS wheels" listed online are for one drivetrain only. 1988-1998 OBS: What Fits
The old school body style rewards commitment. These are the setups we see most on real customer trucks, by suspension:
Leveling kit: the most popular size is a 9" wide wheel with a -12 offset, wearing a 33x11.5 tire. Clean rake-free stance without touching the fenders.
4-inch suspension lift: the next step up for most owners. Typical setup is a 10" wide wheel at -24 offset, staying with a 33 but jumping to 12.5" of tire width since the lift makes room.
6-inch lift kit: go big or go home. A 12" wide wheel at -44 offset with room for 35s. By far the most aggressive setup for this generation.

1999-2006 (Plus 2007 Classic): What Fits
The GMT800 trucks share fitment across 1999-2006 and the 2007 Classic body. All of them are 6x139.7 with the 78.1 mm bore, so the wheel world is wide open:
3.5-inch leveling kit: 10" wide wheels with a -24 offset under a 33x12.5 tire.
4-inch lift: 12" wide wheels with a -44 offset paired to a 32x12 tire.
6-inch lift: 12" wide wheels with a 33x12.5 tire. This is a very aggressive setup, so expect the possibility of light rubbing at full steering lock.

2007-2013: What Fits
The GMT900 era carries the same 6x139.7 pattern and torque spec. Common setups: a leveling kit fits a 20x9 wheel at -12 offset with a 33x11 tire, a 3.5-inch lift steps up to a 20x12 with a 33x12, and a 6-inch lift keeps the 20x12 while making room for a slightly bigger 33x12.5.
